Find me a single software that doesn't default to their UI having stuff enabled.

Set it on a browser level if you need it to default to off, Misskey respects that. prefers-reduced-motion exists for that reason.

Misskey navigates just fine with the keyboard and has a reduced motion toggle.
The options are there, you just gotta use them.

v13 was the big reorganization and cleanup update, before that was just kind of an undirected mess with very questionable code at times
